Teary-eyed Craig Wright: I created Bitcoin, but I cannot prove it in a courtroom

Remember that saying “you can’t have your cake and eat it too,” well, Craig Wright is the living, breathing example of it.

Wright, the self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin, arrived in a federal court in Florida wearing fluorescent pink socks and proclaimed that he cannot access the fortune in Bitcoin, a currency he has berated the community with creating.

The hearing went as you would expect a court hearing involving Craig Wright to go, complete with him throwing documents to the floor, giving lengthy speeches, calling out for the use of his “reading glasses,” using an alternate censored version of the term “messed up,” and the judge even warning him of being ‘handcuffed.’ Picture it.

As reported by Bloomberg, the Australian computer scientist told the West Palm Beach court that he cannot produce the list of Bitcoin addresses that he was ordered to and the entire fortune may be inaccessible altogether in the case involving a dispute between the estate of Dave Kleiman and Craig Wright.

Wright was reported to be holding back tears while delivering his familiar tirade of ‘I am Satoshi Nakamoto,’ which he did yet again, this time in front of a judge and a courtroom. He added it was Kleiman’s responsibility to wipe the evidence clean so that his identity was not revealed.

It should be noted that the aforementioned teary-eyed Wright is now, best known for propelling a cryptocurrency project called Bitcoin SV, which many call a ‘scam’. In April, he began dishing out ‘legal notices,’ in a fit of “bullying” to all those who accused him of being a “fraud,” for his Satoshi claims. One of the crypto-persons to be handed a legal notice was an anonymous Twitter handle of an astronaut cat. Who said the cryptocurrency community didn’t have a sense of humour?

Craig Wright added that his work on Bitcoin ceased in 2010 as the cryptocurrency began finding its way to nefarious circles with the infamous dark web. He added,

“I brought in Dave because he was a friend and he knew who I was and he was a forensic expert, and I wanted to wipe everything I had to do with Bitcoin from the public record.”

Prior to Kleiman’s passing in 2013, Wright stated he handed him a “key piece of information,” allowing the digital wallets to be secure. He added that without this information the Bitcoin, in question, valed at over $10 billion as current prices go, will be sealed shut.

The self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto that is pushing out lawsuits against space-cats added that he is completely fine with this. Taking the ‘ethical route,’ Wright added that he and his wife are concerned that such a fortune would have an adverse impact on his children. He stated,

“My wife and I consider it’s too much money, I’ve got enough now… and we worry what that amount of money would do to the kids.”

Craig Wright, Satoshi or fraud, should know that he cannot simultaneously claim to be the creator of a currency and time and time again not table the proof despite a judge, a courtroom and several witnesses paying close attention. The cake, dear Craig Wright, cannot be had and eaten too.
