Grayscale Investments records its all-time-high volume of $2.7 B worth of digital assets under management
Grayscale Investments, a profound digital asset management firm recently shared its Q2 report which shows that it has $2.7 billion worth of digital assets under its management as of 15 July 2019. This value of assets under the firm’s management has almost tripled from the last quarter, marking an all-time-high record for assets under management.
Divulging into the details of the total funds under management, Grayscale reported that it saw the investments into its single-asset and diversified investment products almost doubled from the previous quarter. The total value of these investments stood at $84.8 million. The firm also claims that the increased investment was one of the major catalysts in driving the prices of the crypto market.
Institutional investors take the biggest share in Grayscale products
Among the list of investors showing interest in Grayscale products, institutional investors take the biggest share and were responsible for 84% of all investments since July 2018. Grayscale Investments also registered a sharp rise in alternative investment. The alternative currency investment only contributed 1% of the total investment, while this number spiked to 24% in Q2.
Out of the total investment into the Grayscale, 70% of investment were those where investor converted their token holdings into different Grayscale products. Interestingly, Q2 of 2019 also marked the first positive quarterly performance for all of 10 Grayscale vehicles.
Grayscale Investments’ Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) return 296% year-to-date yield
Grayscale Investment’s Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) was yielding a 296% year-to-date return as on July 9. The year-to-date yield on GBTC was at least 16 times more than mainstream investments like the S&P 500 (18.7%) and Global Dow (12.9%) during the same time period.
Looking at the phenomenal rise in digital investments on Grayscale, it suggests a clear case of extremely bullish behavior of investors towards digital assets.
