Square Crypto a team by Jack Dorsey for their Bitcoin initiative sees their first hire

Square Crypto a team being set up by Jack Dorsey to work on improving Bitcoin and cryptocurrency ecosystem, which are “independent of Square’s business objective, has finalized their first hire for the team. 

Square crypto is looking at hiring a team of 5 people on the project, out of the 5 4 are on the developers and the one remaining is in the designers side as per Dorsey. 

In an hour of announcement, the twitter handle of the firm put out a tweet and revealed its first hire in the team. Steve Lee, is a former product of Google also an angel investor will be joining the team. The said person has previously worked at Bitcoin Core as a volunteer product manager. 

The tweet by the company read:

“Steve is an angel investor, startup advisor, and former Director at Google. He is also a volunteer PM helping to drive bitcoin adoption through open-source development, UX, and storytelling. Sound familiar?

In return Steve Lee also replied to the tweet and said:

“Bitcoin, not blockchain. Very excited about this opportunity!”

With Steve coming into the team, it is exciting to see what are the contributions of team towards the Crypto-ecosystem. 

The announcement tweet also had a mention of a person called Gary who could not join the team due to undeclared reason and found his replacement in Steve Lee.
