Cardano Improvement Proposal to go under vote, more inside
- Users of the Cardano wallet can now access a multitasking feature.
- Governance may become more efficient if the community approves the proposal.
Input Output, the pre-eminent engineering arm of Cardano [ADA], gave an update on the blockchain activities between the 13th to the 17th of November. In most cases, the report is focused on governance, services, and the project’s core technology.
This time was no different as well, as Input Output gave a rundown on Mithril and Lace.
New releases from each department
Cardano got the Mithril mainnet running in July. Since then, it has acted as the scaling solution for the project. Lace, on the other hand, is a Cardano wallet. Additionally, it was developed to foster interactions with different blockchains.
According to the latest report, the Lace team released version 1.7 during the week. The major feature of the upgraded version is to allow a multitasking feature on the wallet.
The Mithril team, in its own right, advanced its goal of implementing another network design.
Concerning this, Input Output mentioned:
“They progressed in decentralizing the Mithril networks with the peer-to-peer (P2P) networking proof-of-concept, achieving the implementation of P2P signatures broadcast with the relay in the end-to-end tests.”
Apart from Lace and Mithril, there was a major announcement by the Voltaire team. Voltaire is the Cardano division responsible for keeping the community together. One way the team does this is by focusing on decentralized governance.
Cardano wants governance completely fixed
Going forward, Voltaire will put together a voting session for the CIP- 1694. CIP stands for Cardano Improvement Proposal. This proposal is a formal document containing organizational notes regarding the project’s on-chain activity.
If approved, the CIP-1694 will introduce a constitutional committee for the project. This committee would be responsible for the participation of ADA holders. It would also help in monitoring delegates and preventing spamming of tokens on the network.
On 16 November, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson also spoke about the proposal. According to Hoskinson, the CIP-1694 offers two benefits to the Cardano ecosystem.
First, he mentioned that the development could help the foundation collect feedback from the community. Next, he added that the proposal could help with a faster polling mechanism.
Realistic or not, here’s ADA’s market cap in ETH’s terms
In his words, Hoskinson said:
“We are trying to develop an open-source platform for temperature checks and governance in general.”
In the interim, Input Output disclosed that voting on the proposal would take place between the 1st to the 11th of December. It also added that eligible voters must have delegated their ADA to a stake pool, with the last date being the 20th of November.
