XRP community rejoices as Ripple hires Ron Hammond as Manager of Government Relations
Ripple has been regularly making headlines, with many in the XRP community threatening a hard fork if Ripple’s board continued to dump Ripple’s native token. The San Francisco-based blockchain firm is in the news again after Ron Hammond was appointed as the Manager of Government Relations at Ripple. He was previously a part of the team that drafted the Token Taxonomy Act. The news was first broken by XRP Research Center, who tweeted,
“September 3, 2019. *BREAKING* Ron Hammond joins @Ripple as new Manager of Government Relations. Amongst other things, he was in charge of crafting the Token Taxonomy act. Ripple’s regulatory team just got *even* better.”
The XRP community rejoiced with the news of Hammond joining Ripple. Previously, he was a Congressional assistant and was behind the bill to exclude cryptocurrencies from being classified as securities. Further, the bill also called for the introduction of more regulations for crypto-businesses.
Ron Hammond confirmed the news on Twitter and shared,
“Excited to announce that as of today, I am the new Manager of Government Relations for @Ripple! Thrilled to bring all of my legislative experience, including crafting the Token Taxonomy Act, to the team. Special thanks to @michellebond111 and @s_alderoty for this opportunity!”
