One of the “Big Four” audit and accounting firms, Deloitte, has stepped forward to integrate Bitcoin in its Luxembourg ecosystem. In an effort towards the same, the organization is performing a trial run so that its staff can make payments using Bitcoin for their lunch. This is considered to be a crucial step as the tech-giant is looking forward to diversify the usage of the king coin.

According to reports, the Luxembourg arm of Deloitte wants to give its employees access to this latest payments technology. This news gathered attention within the crypto-community, and comes just days after Deloitte’s competitor PwC announced its own plans of delivering crypto-utility services for its clients.

According to Laurent Collet, Partner at Deloitte, blockchain will be one of Deloitte’s priorities. She said,

“The priority for Deloitte is to use the technology underlying Bitcoin – Blockchain – in its fund management activities to process transactions, rather than making payments. Using blockchain technology – an open and transparent system where all transactions are recorded to move funds would speed up the process and make it easier to audit, as well as removing middle men such as accountants and auditing firms.”

Here, it is important to note that the firm has no plans of allowing its clients to pay in Bitcoin in the offing. However, blockchain technology can be used latterly for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of payments. As benefits associated with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are being widely recognized around the globe, Deloitte’s move can be considered to be yet another chapter in the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.
