Bakkt CEO Kelly L Loeffler joins Georgia Power board of directors
Georgia Power, the largest electric subsidiary of Southern Company, and among the America’s premier energy company has inducted Kelly L Loffler, Bakkt CEO in the board of directors for the firm. The decision will be effective from October 1st, 2019.
Bakkt, a subsidiary of the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is a regulated ecosystem which provides custody, markets, and use cases for digital assets including cryptocurrencies. They are also slated to launch the much-prolonged Bitcoin futures contract.
Loffler also served as a member of Intercontinental Exchange’s Executive Management Committee, which operates trading markets for natural gas and other energy commodities electronically.
Paul Bowers, chairman, president, and CEO of Georgia Power was delighted to announce the induction of Loffler to his firm’s board of directors and believed her experience and insight in the energy market as an early member of ICE’s management committee would surely help Georgia Power’s cause of “building a sustainable energy future for our customers and state. We welcome her to the Georgia Power board of directors.”

Loffler’s experience in the management of energy commodities would be a boon for Georgia Power and would help them in achieving their goal of becoming a market leader in the energy sector.
