Cardano ecosystem has been going through a series of core upgrades to ensure its in-house token, ADA’s increased use cases. In this effort, the company made another announcement through an official tweet, which read,
“IOHK published Cardano 1.7.0: Daedalus 0.15.0 and Cardano SL 3.1.0 release note today! Find more about the latest Cardano updates and changes here:”
According to the official announcement, the Cardano 1.7.0 Mainnet release was dated 31 October 2019. This release brings important changes to Daedalus 0.15.0, including “newsfeeds for delivering news and notifications to users, verification of the wallet recovery phrase and removal of ada redemption.”
The wallet recovery phrase verification feature, available in wallet settings for each wallet in Daedalus, allows users to check that they have the correct wallet recovery phrase by entering their 12-word phrase.
This feature will also warn users if their recovery phrase has not been verified for a long period of time.
The release stated that users will get a yellow warning if the recovery phrase has not been verified (six months after the creation or restoration of the wallet). After a year, they will get a red warning. Users don’t need to verify their recovery phrase if they are sure it is correct, and hence, can ignore these warnings.
In addition, the upgrade also provides fixes and improvements such as the new implementation of the number input component and a redesigned user interface for the update system. Diving into Cardano SL 3.1.0 platform update, new features include an endpoint that was created to help verify a wallet ID based on the wallet recovery phrase.
